The guys at I Love My Laundry - a fantastic spot where you can get your laundry done, enjoy coffee & dim sum & and cellar door priced wine... all in one! - asked me if I'd like to show some products and do a mini-yarn bomb at their place. I said 'Yes Please'.
So Wednesday night I had to do some public speaking (crazy idea) and ended up having a rad ol' time chatting to some awesome people. The bubbly from Kumkani didn't hurt - it was flowing and definitely added to the jolly mood :)...
My work and happy experiments will be on their walls for the next 2 weeks - go check it out at I LOVE MY LAUNDRY on 59 Buitengracht Street, Cape Town open from 7am - 7pm.

IsaBeauPeep commission done - 1.7m Black Fabric Mat
A few weeks ago I was commissioned to produce a 1.7m floor covering for a client in Cape Town - this is the final result. I am so happy with the design and the shear size of this one - I decided to take it to the friendly Dear Me restaurant in the heart of Cape Town city for a mini-photo shoot. Thanks so much guys!
Feel free to contact me if you too would like a custom-made floor covering for your home or office space.

IsaBeauPeep: PROtecting the Arts - Wrapping Brett Murray sculpture with yarn-love
Brett Murray's 'Bart Simpson'/'Africa' sculpture in St.George's Mall, Cape Town also ruffled a few feathers when it was erected in the centre of the city - the meaning was also lost and the question of 'But is it art?' was raised. I'm not an expert on art but I do know what I enjoy. I enjoy being challenged and seeing art that visually portrays a complex issue or viewpoint. The 'Spear' artwork causing such a stir is showing again how complex our country is and how we need to communicate more meaningfully with each other & government in order to go forward.
I'm sending out some yarn love today, wrapping our country and our artists up for today's nip in the
air.

Work in Progress: Black Fabric Mat getting there...
I just love working on this one. It's quite a compact design, almost hypnotic. This mat has a life of its own and is steaming ahead to it's final size. Gotta get back to work, the mat is calling...

Work in Progress: Fabric mat - Samples
The classic black is definitely the better choice for the client's room and I know it's going to look absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to get started!

My mum made a Baby Quilt... contact me
It's winter time and my mum decided to dust off her quilting skills again. She did a quilting workshop a while back and so, to ease herself back into the process she tried her hand at a very simple, baby quilt. I think it's very cute and a pretty piece for a lucky baby boy (or girl:).
If you're interested, I'm selling the quilt and pillow set for a cool R150 + postage (or if you're in Cape Town I'll just deliver for free)
Size: 124 x 98 cm
Let me know. It'll be great for my mum:)
